What is the The Arc Embodied Method™
The Arc Embodied Method™ is a 7-phase sequencing structure designed for teachers who want to create nervous system-informed, sustainable classes for students steeped in different worlds.
Rooted in somatics, trauma-awareness, and lived experience, this method guides students through a complete cycle of movement and rest. It can be adapted for yoga, mindfulness, or any body-based practice.
Whether you're teaching a slow flow, a seasonal series, or a one-off restorative class, this arc helps you stay grounded while supporting your students through the rise and return of embodied presence.
Why This Structure?
Nervous system healing isn’t about staying calm all the time.
It’s about being able to move through activation—stress, emotion, intensity—and return to a felt sense of safety.
The Arc Embodied Method™ mimics that cycle on purpose.
In class, it looks like this:
We begin by settling in (Arrival), build toward gentle engagement (Activation), pause for downshifting (Integration), and land in supported stillness (Return).
This isn’t just good sequencing. It’s the body’s native rhythm. But it’s more than that. This method also lives in the tension I’ve known personally, between tradition and skepticism, between scripture and somatics, between yoga postures and trauma-informed safety.
It was built to bridge a gap:
-
Between Christian students and yoga language
-
Between spiritual longing and embodied permission
-
Between ancient practice and modern neuroscience
For those of us who felt unsure how to enter a yoga space without abandoning our beliefs...
And for those of us who love yoga but are deeply dysregulated...
This is for you.
I didn’t set out to create a method.
I just needed a rhythm that welcomed the full human experience; physically, emotionally, spiritually.
Now I use it in every class I teach.
And I hope it helps you do the same.

No sun salutations or fast pacing
4. Balance
-
Standing or proprioceptive postures

The Arc Embodied Method™ is built on the wisdom of many worlds:
-
The structure and spaciousness of Hatha yoga
-
The gentleness of Yin and restorative practices
-
The language and nuance of trauma-informed care
-
The embodied principles of somatic therapy
-
The rhythms of neuroscience and nervous system regulation
-
The faith-rooted courage to slow down and feel safe again
I don’t pretend this is new. I just organized what was already sacred into a repeatable rhythm that changed my life and now I’m sharing it with you.
