What to know when booking...
Where are events held?
Events are hosted at your location—indoor or outdoor. You’re responsible for securing the space (church, home, studio, backyard, etc.). Some events require access to running water or seating space (Alice Does Yoga*)
Do you provide mats or props?
No. All events are bring your own props. Please have participants bring a mat, blanket, or anything else they want for comfort. I do not provide props, matts, or blocks.
Can we host the class outside?
Yes, as long as the weather is safe and the space is flat and quiet enough for movement to hear without any extra sound equipment unless provided by the purchaser. Please plan a backup indoor option incase of inclement weather.
What’s your travel area?
Serving Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas. Extra fees may apply for travel requests beyond 15 miles.
Is this okay for beginners?
Absolutely. Every offering is beginner-friendly, low-pressure, and adaptable. Movement is always optional. These classes are designed for real people, not perfect poses. Main cues will be at beginner to level one options with occasional challenge suggestions for those wanting to level up!
Can we customize the class?
Yes. Some events like Girls Night are fully customizable. For others, you can request a faith-based or somatic-based focus. ADD ONs are available as well in the service listings such as, opt to include journaling prompts or guided discussion time. You’ll be able to note these preferences when you book or add them to your cart via the add on listings.
What’s the difference between the somatic lens and the faith-based focus?
The core class structure remains the same, but the guidance, meditation language, and closing reflections shift based on your preference.
-
The somatic lens leans into nervous system education, brain retraining techniques, and science-informed language. You’ll hear cues grounded in trauma-informed movement, sensory awareness, and body-based healing.
-
The faith-based focus integrates Scripture, prayer, and spiritual reflection. Alongside somatic practices, we’ll explore how faith and nervous system healing complement one another—and create space to meet God on the mat.
You’ll be able to choose your preference during booking. If you’re unsure, I’m happy to help guide you to the option that best supports your group. Both choices will leave you feeling lighter and more connected.
What if we need to reschedule?
Please give at least 72 hours’ notice to reschedule. Last-minute cancellations may result in forfeited payment.
Do you take photos or post to social media?
I don’t photograph events unless specifically asked. You’re welcome to take a group photo afterward if desired.
Are men allowed to attend?
My events are designed for women and women-led groups. If you have a unique request or co-ed group in mind, feel free to reach out with details.
What’s included in the pricing?
Your booking includes the guided class, arrival 15 min prior to the event to help set up, and in some cases printed materials or a tea service (noted in those listings). Optional add-ons like journaling packets or extended group discussion are available and can be found in service listings.
What’s your faith background?
I attend Trinity Presbyterian and align most closely with Reformed Baptist theology. That said, in any class that includes faith-based content, I focus on core biblical truth—not denominational differences. These offerings are designed to be accessible, not divisive.
Where do the prayers and meditations come from?
When I offer guided meditations or breath prayers, I often pull from Scripture and trusted Christian sources. Two favorites I regularly use are Jenn Tucker’s Breath as Prayer and Present in Prayer, which provide beautiful, biblically grounded prompts.
What is the ARC Embodied Method?
The ARC Method is my approach to movement and nervous system support. It follows a simple rhythm of Arrival, Activation, Integration, and Return. It's designed to guide people out of stress and into regulation by consistently mimicking the process in which the nervous system grounds in safety, experiences activation, processes the environment, and returns to safety.
Why not use a traditional yoga method?
It doesn't fit me needs or the needs of the students I'm trying to reach. The market is saturated with traditional yogis and also with skeptics. My goal is to serve the people in the margins; the ones who feel stuck because they’re either “too spiritual” or “not spiritual enough.” ARC is a method that makes space for both.
