About the event
🍂 Seasonal Somatics: 6-Week Fall Series
Saturdays | Sept 6 – Oct 11 | 1:00 - 2:00 PM
A six-week journey into body-based regulation. This series teaches foundational somatic tools that help rewire stress patterns, increase emotional resilience, and build whole-body steadiness. Classes follow the ARC Embodied Method™ with four phases each week: Arrival, Activation, Integration, and Return.
Week 1: Grounding & Orienting – “Stability Through Support” (Sept 6)
🌾 We begin by anchoring the nervous system through grounded surfaces and orienting to our environment.
Educational Focus: How grounding and spatial awareness impact stress, safety, and perception.
Class Flow:
Arrival: Orientation to surroundings, seated breath and touch-based awareness
Activation: Weighted floor-based movement and stability drills
Integration: Root-focused yin flow with long holds and surface feedback
Return: Body scan and breath to reinforce a sense of internal safety
Week 2: Breath & Co-Regulation – “Exhale to Soften” (Sept13)
🌬️ Breath is our most accessible regulatory tool, subtle but powerful.
Educational Focus: How breath shapes nervous system state and supports emotional co-regulation.
Class Flow:
Arrival: Gentle paired or mirrored breathing (visual or imagined)
Activation: Breath-led movement patterns with extended exhales
Integration: Yin sequence paired with rhythmic breath cues
Return: Rest with guided breath tracking and optional co-regulation cueing
Week 3: Interoception & Felt Sense – “Noticing” (Sept 20)
🌿 Interoception helps us track needs, boundaries, and subtle shifts with clarity.
Educational Focus: What is interoception, and why it's key for regulation and body trust.
Class Flow:
Arrival: Seated body mapping and breath-to-body focus
Activation: Gentle functional movement with internal tracking
Integration: Slow flow with sensory layering (touch, texture, position)
Return: Stillness with interoceptive cueing and internal reflection
Week 4: Pendulation & Titration – “Release Without Flooding” (Sept 27)
🍂 Somatic healing doesn’t require pushing, it invites us to move in and out with care.
Educational Focus: How pendulation and titration help release held tension without overwhelm.
Class Flow:
Arrival: Safety check-in and intentional movement prep
Activation: Gentle shaking, rebound techniques, micro-movement resets
Integration: Flow alternating contraction/release with breath
Return: Structured rest and closing cueing for emotional containment
Week 5: Functional Strength & Containment – “Holding with Intention” (Oct 4)
🪨 Strength doesn’t mean tension. It means safe containment and capacity.
Educational Focus: How somatic strength builds resilience and energetic boundaries.
Class Flow:
Arrival: Breath-to-core awareness and body containment setup
Activation: Wall-supported strength drills and functional patterning
Integration: Flow focused on low-pressure strength and control
Return: Supported rest with intentional containment through breath and awareness
Week 6: Integration & Neuroplasticity – “Wiring for Wholeness” (Oct 11)
🍎 Every repetition of safety becomes a new pathway.
Educational Focus: How repetition, rest, and mindful presence create lasting nervous system change.
Class Flow:
Arrival: Reflective check-in and breath
Activation: Flow combining familiar somatic tools from past weeks
Integration: Yin sequence woven from all six week’s core themes
Return: Extended rest with gratitude and neuroplasticity-based visualization
